God Bless America: Why This Apron Pick Means So Much

Celebrating the Red, White, and Blue

I love living in the United States, where all the holidays are so different—it gives each day its own special feel. It’s not just the weather, but even the foods we eat that play an important part in our celebrations.

Memorial Day and the 4th of July are meant for grilling out: your favorite aunt’s "world-famous" baked beans, your sister’s potato salad, and your little cousins seeing who can spit their watermelon seeds the farthest.

Grandma’s homemade caramel corn balls and “creepy” snacks made from Rice Krispie treats, pretzel sticks, and frosting make Halloween so much fun.

Thanksgiving is the holiday for all things pumpkin (or pecan), while trying to perfect that cornbread stuffing recipe.

Christmas means homemade cookies—whether it’s a traditional tea cake cookie or ugly Christmas sweater cookies decorated with your best friends and grandkids.

Let’s not forget that New Year’s is the perfect time for black-eyed peas and pork.

And of course, Easter has pancake breakfasts at churches across the nation, followed by hot cross buns, ham, and deviled eggs for lunch.

The Meals Go On and On:

  • Ham to Turkeys to Pork

  • Sweet Potatoes to Mashed Potatoes to Baked Potatoes

  • Pies to Cakes to Cookies

  • Cooking Inside to Grilling Outside to Traveling with Food

I also appreciate that we live in a country where we have so much variety in holidays—religious holidays, holidays to celebrate our country and freedoms, even holidays that exist just because Hallmark said they’re holidays (like National Pizza Day and National Donut Day)!

That’s why my pick for the month of July is a patriotic apron. It just seems like a natural choice for an all-American girl to pick the old red, white, and blue.

To Be Born in America Is Like Winning the Lottery

This country has so many wonderful things to offer.

I LOVE that someone can choose to chase financial success, or chase relationships—or both.
I LOVE that we can pick our religion.
I LOVE that we can pick our career.
I LOVE that we can pick our spouse.
I LOVE that we can invite the neighbors to grill out in the summer or have a quick chat over the fence.
I LOVE that we can vote if we choose, and for whomever we choose.
I LOVE that we can choose private or public schools for our kids.
I LOVE that we can grow our own food in our backyard.

I could go on and on about why I believe this country is so wonderful and why I’m so grateful to live here…

But I’m supposed to be talking about why I love this month’s apron pick :)

Why I Love This Apron

I love the design of this apron!
The Americana look, especially with the curls in the font, reminds me of an old painting on the side of a barn or gas station from back in the day—when everyone had pride in our great country.

Another thing I love about this design is how great it looks on so many different apron colors. Whether it’s bold red (my favorite!), elegant navy blue, or a more neutral shade like khaki or slate blue, the embroidery thread colors look so classy.

Even though it features the colors of Old Glory, this apron can be worn all year round. There’s no specific season required to show your love, appreciation, and loyalty to our country.

The Best Part: The Words

GOD BLESS.

I have truly been blessed living in this country—from my family, to my church, to my business.

I’m incredibly thankful to be married to a smart man who works hard for our family—and is easy to look at :)
We’ve always had plenty of food on our table and have been blessed with two healthy girls.
We attend a church that teaches the Bible faithfully and is warm, welcoming, and full of life.

Truly, this apron is one of my favorite aprons of the year.

If you’re reading this, I hope you agree with this simple but powerful statement:

God Bless America, Land That I Love.

God Bless America Land that I love

God Bless America Apron
